Fired Arts Workshops

In Fresno, CA July 20-23, 2011  there is going to be a great event! We have 7 very talented teachers coming together to put on a wonderful teaching event!
These teachers are Marchelle Burnham, David Hoff, Mike Harbridge, Arlene Smith, Paula McCoy, Vickie Recchia, and Helen Daum. They have all put together a wonderful selection of classes.
There will be everything from Brushstrokes, Piping, Clay Work, Carving, Raku, Glass,Textured Glaze Product, Silver Clay, and many other fired art classes offered. Many of the classes are things that are the newest things being done in the Fired Arts Industry.
This is a great way to take a variety of classes from some really good teachers in one location! The teachers have gone the extra mile to put this event together and hope to keep this great event going year after year!
By signing up early there are some extra give aways valuing $100.00. Also for signing up early this will get you entered into a drawing for a new kiln.
One of the fun things happening at this event is a really fun Bar-B-Q at David Hoff's home on Friday night!

Marchelle' Projects for Fired Arts Workshop in Fresno, CA

Koi Fish on Glass
Wednesday afternoon 1:00-4:30
Saturday 8:30-12:00
You will be doing this really pretty Koi Fish on Colored Glass.
You will learn how to paint the fish using Unique Glass Colors.
Then you will learn how to attach this glass to clear glass and add frit!
You will receive written instructions on how to fire the glass, a sagger to keep,
 to finish your firing at home. You will receive a brush to keep for painting glass.
Cost for class is $55.00.

Tropical  Toucan
Thursday morning 8:30-12:00
Friday afternoon 1:00- 4:30
This toucan is way to fun to do!!
You will be using Spectrum Underglazes.
You will learn about 3 different ways to shade using these glazes, and you will use
Raised Accent Color to add dimesional detail to the piece when you are done! This is
Spectrum Glazes product for piping! You just do it at the end of the painting.
You will receive written instruction and glaze to take home to finish your piece.
We won't get all of the black applied to him in class.
Great class and everyone loves this happy guy!

Rip and Tear Raku
Friday morning  8:30-12:00
You will be working on wet greenware and ripping and tearing your piece to change it's shape!
You will be using Raku wet greenware, so that when this piece has dried and been fired.
You can use those great Raku glazes and finish your piece.
When you are through creating on this vase, you will be able to decorate a piece of Raku bisque
that I will bring for you to do in this class. You will be able to design what ever you like on the bisque
piece. I have 28 colors of Raku glazes for you to choose from! There will also be some Glass Frit colors to choose from to add to the design as well.
So come to this class and have a fun time creating what ever you want on Raku pieces!!!!
You will receive written instruction for this class!

Big Fish, Little Fish
Thursday afternoon 1:00-4:30
Saturday afternoon 1:00-4:30
This is a really fun class to learn how to use the Spectrum Superstrokes and Underglazes.
We will be Airbrushing the background of the body of the fish, and then adding great detail to the fish with the underglazes.
There are a couple of fun ways to do short cuts for detail in this class,
 so I hope that you will come and do this really fun design on this great fish plate!
You will receive written instructions and glaze to take home to finish your piece with!
Cost for class is $50.00.

Make and Take It's
During the lunch time and any other time that you have free time I will be free to teach some other projects that have been big hits at the shows. Come by my classroom and check out projects that will be offered at those times!
